Interior painting
Most of an interior job happens before a drop of finish paint goes on. That is the part people notice a year later.
What a room gets
- Furniture moved to the middle and covered; floors papered or dropped, wall to wall.
- Cracks, nail pops, dents and old anchor holes filled, sanded and spot-primed.
- Gaps at trim and casing caulked so the lines stay sharp.
- Stains from water, smoke or crayon sealed with a stain-blocking primer — latex alone will let them ghost back through.
- Two coats of finish paint, cut in by hand at ceilings, corners and trim.
- Tools and coatings staged neatly out of the way each evening, and off the site entirely once the job is finished.

What Upstate walls actually want
Most houses here are drywall with a texture on it — orange peel, knockdown, or a light spray — and a patch that has not been textured to match will show up under every lamp in the room. We match the texture first and paint second. In the older neighborhoods off North Main and Augusta Road there is still original plaster, and that gets cut out and taped rather than filled, so the crack does not walk straight back through the paint. Humidity is the other thing: bathrooms, laundry rooms, sunrooms and anything sitting over a crawl space get a coating rated to be scrubbed and to resist mildew, not a flat wall paint that will hold it.
Living in the house while we work
Most interiors run one to seven days — a room or two is quick, a whole house sits at the top of that range. We work room by room where we can, so you keep a kitchen and a bathroom the whole time. Everything gets swept and put back before we leave each day, and you and Jason walk the finished job together before the last payment.
Questions about interior painting
Do I have to move out?
No. Almost every interior we do is done with the family living there. We stage the work so you keep a working kitchen and bathroom, and we clean up at the end of each day.
Do you move furniture?
We move what two people can safely move to the middle of the room and cover it. Anything fragile, very heavy or irreplaceable is better handled by you before we arrive.
How long until we can put the room back together?
Walls are dry to the touch in a few hours and back in service the next day. Fresh trim enamel is best left alone for a couple of days before anything leans against it.
